Body College London 2022

Body College is excited to start a new biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST) training in London starting in October 2022.

The course is suitable for existing health professionals considering adding a new modality to their work as well as individuals wanting to start a career in an exciting and evolving therapy.

Body College is provisionally accredited with the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK (CSTA). We will be the only biodynamic course accredited by the CSTA in London. Within the course we teach all the anatomy you need to be an excellent BCST. To practice in the UK it is easy to get insurance after graduating from Body College. It is recommended, but voluntary, to join the CSTA. If you no have previous anatomy background the CSTA requires you do an 80 hour Anatomy and Physiology training in order to join their register.

Body College is also aligned to the International Affiliation of Biodynamic Trainings (IABT) standards of training (accreditation with the IABT is pending). All IABT courses are 700 hours of teaching – 350 hours of direct class teaching (ten five day seminars of 35 hours) and 350 hours of homestudy.

The bulk of the homestudy is 150 treatments given over the lifecycle of the course. Homestudy includes reflections on your progress, short essays, drawing, meditation practice and reading between seminars. Plus, there are three case history projects in the final year and a longer write up on a clinical condition. Contact skills are assessed via regular feedbacks sessions on tutors during class time.

The course is designed so participants can attend the first seminar without committing to the full course. Seminar one is an introduction into basic contact skills and relating to biodynamic movements and will provide an opportunity to experience the approach and appreciate the extent of the curriculum.

In the second year of the course a students can do supervised sessions on members of the public in the Body College Low Cost Clinic. Steve Haines has extensive experience of running student clinics in London and Ireland. Clinic hours are voluntary, but highly recommended, they are a big bonus to the learning process. There is a fee to work in the Low Cost Clinic.
